Shopify is an e-commerce platform where business owners can create and manage an online store.

My team developed a speed report for Shopify store owners to monitor their store’s site speed.

Accomplishments

• Overall, there were 18,000+ report visits
• 8.29% video view rate, in which 59% of the viewers watched through the whole 3 minute educational video
• 100% increase in experts marketplace job requests

Speed score for Shopify stores

The speed score brings awareness to business owners on how fast their store website is for their visitors. It is accompanied by a “Shopify score” that ranks stores against stores of similar size.

Action oriented

We partnered with the learning team to create educational videos on improving store speed, since through our research, we learned that business owners aren’t familiar with technical performance.

Web performance report

Located under the analytics tab, business owners can access an entire report on their store’s speed.

Banner version

After launching the report, we learned there were not many visits, since the report was deeply embedded in the analytics tab. I introduced a banner version on a high visibility surface: the Themes page.
