Overview
In this project, I was the sole designer for conceptualizing and shipping a login and account recovery flows for Shop Pay.
My role involved collaborating closely with engineers and the data scientist to understand the complexity of the issue, defining the project scope and requirements, aligning design strategy with product goals, leading design efforts, addressing all user edge cases, ensuring user security and privacy, and designing interactive prototypes.
Impact
- I developed and designed login and account recovery flows for over 40 million regular users.
- Generated 500,000 logins within 2 weeks of launch.
Projects
Streamlined login
Users can enter payment details to speed up future purchases, or to set up instalment plans.
Efficient recovery
Users can recover their account through email, if they are unable to receive a verification code through their phone number.
Secure account recovery flow
Shop Pay does not confirm email and phone number upon sign-up.
To protect users from another person accessing their payment details, I came up with a solution to confirm email and phone number during account recovery.
If the phone number is incorrect, Shop Pay updates it,and erase all previously saved information on the account.
